# What is kept, and for how long

> What DexFlip stores on your phone and elsewhere, and when it goes

The durable copy of everything is on your iPhone, inside DexFlip. There is no DexFlip server and no account with DexFlip. The only copies elsewhere are the ones you send: listings on eBay and exports in your Google Drive.

The [privacy policy](/docs/privacy) is authoritative. This page is the same facts for somebody using the app.

## On your phone

| Record | Kept for | Clock |
| ---------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------------------- | --------------------- |
| A card: its photos, match, condition and price | Until you delete or remove it | None |
| A listing and its cover photo | Until you un-build it, or remove its cards once published | None |
| A lot's card photos | Until the lot publishes | Deleted on publish |
| Your selling preferences and condition shares | Until you change them or delete the app | None |
| The eBay link | Until you unlink, or eBay ends it | Set by eBay |
| The Google link | Until you unlink, or Google ends it | Set by Google |
| Your eBay username and Google email address | Until you unlink | None |
| Remembered choices, such as the Compose sort | Until you change them | None |
| The last Home value totals | Until the next refresh | Replaced each refresh |

**Nothing expires on a timer.** DexFlip deletes nothing on its own schedule. You get no warning because nothing goes without you doing it.

## What does not expire

* Published cards. They stay under **Published** after they sell, until you remove them.
* Photos of cards you never listed. They stay in Review or Compose.
* Everything the app created on eBay: listings, policies and the inventory location.
* Everything the app created in your Drive: the folder, the sheet and the photos.

## What goes sooner than you might expect

* **A lot's card photos** are deleted from the phone as soon as the lot publishes. The cover stays, and eBay keeps the photos it was sent.
* **Unlinking eBay** also clears the chosen shipping and returns policies in the app.
* **A photo left behind** by an interrupted delete is cleaned up the next time the app opens.

## Where it lives

| Data | Location | Leaves the phone |
| ---------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Cards, listings, preferences | The app's own storage | In your iPhone backup, if you back up |
| Photos | The app's own storage, never your photo library | In your iPhone backup, and on eBay or in Drive when you send them |
| eBay and Google links | The iOS Keychain, this phone only | Never. Not in iCloud Keychain or backups to another phone |

**Nothing syncs.** A second phone does not see the first one's cards. Location and other metadata are removed from every photo before it is stored.

## What is sent, and to whom

| Sent to | What | When |
| -------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | --------------------------------------- |
| eBay | Photos, title, price, condition, description, card details, your ZIP code | When you publish |
| DexFlip's sign-in relay for eBay | The one-time sign-in code and the link's renewal token, passed straight to eBay | When you link, and when the link renews |
| Google | Card photos, sheet rows, a timestamp photo | When you export |
| TCGdex | A catalogue card number, to fetch its price | In Review, and when Home refreshes |
| DexFlip's price file host | A plain download request | When the app opens |

The sign-in relay holds the app's eBay key so it never ships inside the app. It stores nothing. See the [privacy policy](/docs/privacy#the-ebay-sign-in-relay).

## Deleting everything

There is no single button.

1. In DexFlip, unlink eBay and Google in **Settings**.
2. Delete the app. Its storage goes with it.
3. On eBay, end any listings you want gone and remove DexFlip from your third-party app permissions.
4. In Google Drive, delete the **DexFlip** folder.

<Warning>
Deleting the app cannot be undone. Cards, photos and listings not yet published are gone for good, unless an iPhone backup still holds them.
</Warning>

## Notes

* **Remove from device** on a published card deletes it from the phone only. The eBay listing stays.
* Deleting a card does not delete its row or photos from your sheet.
